What are the effects of only having one ovary?

My aunt (haha I swear it's not me) just had a baby 7 weeks ago and she has a cyst on one of her ovaries so she's getting it removed. I was just curious what the effects of only having one ovary were? Ex. Is it a tough decision, Would it take longer to conceive?
