Does this violate any copyright law?

I like the character and personality of Alex Russo which is created by Disney, and I want to start a novel, as Alex the main character. But the novel will contain different settings and plots, than of Wizards of Waverly Place, she won't be a wizard or anything, she will be a normal girl with a similar name and personality but different life, does this violate any copyright law?
